Pablo del Grosso Player Profile
Pablo is from a family of amateur golfers and when he was 6 his grandmother started him off on his golfing career. At the age of 12 he was invited to play in his first junior national tournament in Mar del Plata, where he finished 3rd and at 16 he began playing for the AAG (Asociacion Argentina de Golf) team and represented his country around the world. In the meantime he had several successes notably joint winner of the South America Championship in Columbia in 1998, second place in the Optimist Junior Golf Championship in Palm Beach, Florida in 1999, winner of the Abierto del Centro in Villa Allende, Cordoba in 2001, winner of the Nacional in Rosario in 2001 and he topped the amateur rankings in Argentina in 1999 and 2001. At the end of 2001, whilst playing off a handicap of +3, he turned professional. He finished 3rd in the TLA (Tour de las Americas) Qualifying School, giving him playing rights for 2002. He had several top ten finishes that year and ended the year in the top five of the final rankings and won the TLA Newcomer of the Year Award. In 2005 he finished T5 in the Abierto Telefonica Moviles de Guatemala, which was a tournament co-sanctioned between the TLA and the Challenge Tour. This was the first of several top ten results on the Challenge Tour. In 2007 He was T6 in the Abierto Mexicano Corona and T4 in the Abierto Telefonica de Guatemala. He regained his Challenge Tour card for 2008 when his best result was T7 in the Dubliner Challenge. Pablo had a successful year in 2010 finishing 46th in the Challenge Tour Rankings |
